Head injuries, such as concussions are very common in football, and they can get especially serious if a coach does not take proper action to take a player off the field if he or she suspects head injury. In this project, my team designed a helmet, the CONhelmet, for reducing concussion risk in football players and increasing the transparency behind the coaches' calls to keep players on the field. The helmet uses force sensors to detect impacts to the player's head and different coloured LEDs on the helmet to signal the status of the player.
